When should I start looking for a wedding gown?
Ideally, you should start looking at least 12 months before your wedding date. This gives you enough time to find your dream gown and accessories. Most of our gowns have a 4-7 month production time. You also need to factor in time for alterations. If you need a gown ASAP , the pre-loved collection or sample sale gowns are perfect for you. You are able to purchase these on the spot and walk out the door with your new gown. Otherwise, each designer has a rush order policy, however, these incur a fee ranging from $200-$400. Please enquire at hello@homesteadroadbridalco.com.au.
Do I need to book an appointment to see the gowns?
Bookings are essential so I can give you our undivided attention during your visit. If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 48 hours prior so we are able to see another bride-to-be during this time. Please make an appointment here.
How long is my appointment?
First Appointments are 1.5 hours long .This allows you time to really explore the collection. You may try on as many gowns as your wish during this time. If you can’t try everything on that you want to during this time or you want to come back and try on some of your favourites again, you are welcome to book a second appointment that will run for 45 minutes. If you purchase a gown, your pick-up appointment will run for 30 minutes to make sure you are perfectly happy with your brand new gown. If you live too far away to make your pick-up appointment, I will mail the gown to you and coordinate a virtual appointment.
What and who should I bring to my appointment?
I recommend no more than 3 people come with you to your appointment. Sometimes less is more and I believe that too many people can become confusing. I also need to keep in regulation with the current COVID rules, so this may be subject to change. I recommend that you wear seamless or nude underwear and bring a strapless or backless bra. I also encourage you to bring your wedding shoes ( if you have them) or shoes that you think might think will be of a similar height to the shoes on the day. I strongly urge you not to wear too much or any makeup to keep the gowns free from stains. This is especially important when trying on the pre-loved gowns. Please do not wear fresh fake tan.
What sizes are your sample gowns?
The sample gowns range from size 10-20 standard street size. If you are smaller than this, we clip the dress to make it look how it should if you were trying on the gown of your size. Most designers create gowns ranging from 6-16 but some continue to street size 36.

Yes, most gowns will need to be altered for a perfect fit. This sometimes could be as simple as a hem or shortening shoulder straps. Remember, it is easier to alter in than out.
